Social work started at Bournemouth University around 1990, whilst it was still a Polytechnic - it gained university status in 1992. The head at this time was Rodger White. It offered the DipSW initially, moving into undergraduate social work throughout the 1990s and having its Master’s degree programme delivered from 2011.
